Enfield, NH - Janet A. Nugent, 71, died on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at her home after a long & brave battle with COPD.

She was born in Hanover, NH on March 11, 1941 a daughter of the late Palmer "June" C. and Lucille B.(Plamondon) Read, Jr. Janet grew up in Plainfield, NH on the family farm and attended schools there before graduating from Windsor High School in 1959. After graduating, she worked several different jobs before beginning a long career at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center working in Fiscal Services, retiring in February 2005 . Most recently Janet has work for Service Link helping people with Medicare.

Known to most people as Mimi, her grandchildren and all of their friends were especially precious to her. She was an avid MVRHS sports fan. She could often be found on the hill with her binoculars watching one sport or another in her purple cap and her Gram Nugent sweatshirt or following one of the kids around at a school open house. Janet also loved to read and was known to be a junk food junkie.

She is survived by her son John Nugent and his wife Tracie; a daughter Doreen Bowlin and her husband Daniel all of Enfield; a brother Richard P. Read, Sr. and his wife Janet of Plainfield; four grandchildren Travis, Allie and Taylor Nugent and Justin Bowlin all of Enfield and several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and "adoptive" children.

At Janet's request there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on June 22 at 10:30AM in the Plainfield Cemetery on Rt. 12-A in Plainfield, NH.
